Hope Remanes
Hope Remanes pairs children and adults in crisis with rescued horses to discover hope and to heal from the traumatic emotions linked to abuse. Our community-driven volunteer mentors have the honor of working with people of all ages who suffer the tolls of acute crises in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Every day, thousands of people in our region suffer the trauma of violence, sexual abuse, drug addiction, grief from the death of a loved one, neglect, illness, and many other forms of physical and emotional abuse. In the safe, positive environment of Hope Remanes' partnered ranches, trained mentors of faith help people in pain experience a different kind of healing. When a person is immersed in nature and intimately works with a rescued horse, a unique peace is found.

Children and adults in the grips of crisis must establish healthy relationships as part of their restorative journey. While physicians, therapists, and counselors provide the most vital relationships and healing services for the mind and body, rescued equine have the distinct ability to help heal the spirit. Rehabilitated horses often share similar stories of trauma and healing. These animals of dignity can therefore connect with people who suffer. The safe and caring relationships that blossom from those connections promote the healing process.
Unfortunately, most mental health services do not offer access to this kind of nature-based community program. Hope Remanes was founded as a nonprofit organization to provide a restorative option to individuals and families throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania who cannot otherwise afford similar services. Together, we are helping people along their healing journeys.
